Tips for Teaching Children How To Clean Up

Teacher's at the Nursery in Dubai may find themselves cleaning toys several times a day. This is not a syndrome or OCD, but the reality is, it's important to keep a tidy room, if not for any other obvious reason, as the room cluttered with toys is a potential safety hazard as well. It can be overwhelming to have tons of toys around. Therefore, measures should be taken to teach the children at the preschool in Dubai how to clean up after themselves, by teachers as well as parents.
Give the child, a good example - The most effective method of teaching children do something is to lead by your own example. Before starting to involve a child in the process, you should focus on giving them a good example. If they never saw you cleaning they are not familiar with the idea. Be consistent with cleaning in their presence. It's easy to make children get used to the tidiness and all of the cleaning process even if it seems they don’t understand, they will catch on eventually.
Start  as soon as possible - You may wonder how young you should start. If the child is able to make such a mess, they are able to place it back where it belongs. It does not mean that they are ready to take on the job of spring cleaning their Dubai Nursery Schools, but train them to put the block sets back into the box. The child may even find these tasks and chores interesting as well.
Make it all about fun - Children, especially preschoolers are stubborn by nature. Therefore, they should not consider cleaning  to be some sort of rule or command. Make sure it is funny and interesting. The teachers at the  Nursery in Umm Suqeim sing songs while helping the children to put their toys back in place or make a game out of it and see who can clean up the fastest and offer a reward. Also, try associating cleaning up with a story, for instance the toy cars need to go back into their garage after a fun filled day or the dolls are tired and should go to sleep.
Make it a team effort - Small children are not able to clean up on their own, especially if they are still trying to teach them to clean up. So make sure to involve all the children and participate along with them so they can follow your actions and take it a funny team activity. Also a use tip for parents is that children love to participate in whatever their 'mum' and 'dad' does at home, so use it to your advantage while teaching them to clean.
Break up the tasks into sequences - Since children have a short attention span and cannot focus on one thing for a long time. They will find cleaning funny, but only for a while and thereafter it becomes frustrating. Take the cue and leave the current task and focus on something else. Encourage the child to clean later, and make it funny again.

When Your Child Does Not Like Preschool

As a parent , you would have gone bananas for Preschool in Dubai for your only child. You would have invested in a complete makeover for the child's room with an area to study and incorporate all they would learn in preschool like the sensory toys, the puzzles, small pitchers full of split peas on another and practiced the art of giving a lesson, so that you can step back and wait for the magic of preschool to happen and turn your little tantrum thrower into a child who sits and concentrates for long periods of time, dutifully refining his fine motor skills.
But sadly this is not what happens  with your little learner, the trays were played with briefly and then left on the shelf to collect dust, or refused to do the work correctly and the split peas scattered everywhere. Your initial enthusiasm of incorporating the system of Early Years Education in Dubai in your child dwindles, and now you may get the slightest bit irritated by those pretty pictures of children calmly attending to and exhibiting intense interest in working on a tray.
Since your child has lost all interest in what you have carefully designed, you’re left wondering if preschool  just doesn’t work for your child. Believe it or not, this preschool in the home scenario is very common, but just because you have all the age appropriate tools and a home full of preschool activities it does not mean that the child will want to engage in it.
Here are some tips to help your child want to have the same enthusiasm that children at the Kindergarten in Dubai, has about learning,
Observe the child - If your child is not doing the activities on the shelf, what is it that the child is doing. Make a list of what you see. It is possible that your child is in a sensitive period for a completely different type of work than what you offer. The best thing to do is get to know your child and then plan the activities to meet their needs and interests. Design the work that will appeal to and enrich the life of your child.
Repeat the same work, but change them a little - For instance, instead of using pom-poms in two bowls with tongs, trade them out for cotton balls.  Make the lime squeezing work a lemon squeezing work.  Remove the green colored bowls and substitute with red ones. Sometimes small changes like this will work wonders to renew the child’s interest. Make these simple changes and leave it to the child to discover.
Give it some time - There are flaws in rotating the work too often and if they are traded out too soon, the child may never get the chance to come back to them and enjoy them the way the child wanted to. It's best for teachers and parents to leave the same work out long past the point when the children seem done with them explains an educator of the EYFS Dubai method . This is because children are drawn to the new, bright and shiny and focus for short amounts of time only to move onto the next bright and shiny thing.  When new work or toys arrive often, children learn to expect their arrival, and they will wait for them. Given enough time, most children return to familiar activities, remember the lessons, and engage without being shy.
Ask for help - If it's not all working out the way you want to make sure to ask for help.

Child's Play: Aids and Enhances Development

Play is how children in Kindergarten Dubai come to understand the world, and use their senses, like touching, tasting, smelling, hearing, and seeing. Learning as they mix colors, dig holes, explore a new texture, climb stairs, listen to music, crawl in play tubes and our a glass of water, is key to a child's development. They are learning about what things are, how they work, the shape of things and how their own bodies work as they push and pull, jump and stretch, stir and swirl, roll and stand very still. The world becomes their own private laboratory to engage their whole bodies in exploration and discovery.
Children can often be social butterflies and through play, learn how to make friends. Letting a child interact with a peer group, freely is a great way for parents to help children make friends. While children play with other children in the Children's Nursery in Dubai,  setting,  they learn about displaying emotions such as what makes them sad or happy. They learn how to work together towards a goal, leadership skills, and how to get along in a group.  They learn how to be kind and what to do when someone is unkind, both two very important lessons.
Children learn many behavioral qualities when they interact with children at a Preschool in Dubai. This is where they are exposed to children of many cultures and different ages. They learn how to share, take turns, negotiate, lead, follow, listen, collaborate, plan, imagine, and show affection. There are 6 stages of what a child's play looks like.
  1. Unoccupied Play: Children just observe with no playing.
  2. Solitary Play: Children play by themselves.
  3. Onlooker Play: Children watch others play, but do not join in.
  4. Parallel Play: Children play side by side, but don't interact. They may watch each other and do the same things.
  5. Associative Play: Children are playing together, but not in an organized way. They are interesting, but don't appear to have a goal.
  6. Cooperative Play: Children play together in an organized, coordinated way.

Children will go back and forth between these stages, but as they get older, they will prefer the association or cooperative play approach.
Children need an unstructured and unscheduled time to explore and discover.  Learning happens most effectively with open-ended materials that can be used in different  ways to nurture creativity. Use materials such as building-blocks, Legos™, sand, water, dirt, a small wheelbarrow, small shovels and balls of many sizes.
Child's play time can be enhanced by the presence of a nurturing adult in the form of a parent or an educator, at home or at your child's Nursery in Jumeirah. The child leads the play time and the parent follows. Also, make sure to guide your child's play, while on a play date or at the playground. Your presence enables another level of meaningful play to happen, such as the child may figure out that with you being there he or she can figure out a tough situation or try something they would try out on their own.

Choosing a School After Preschool

Choosing where your child will go to school after attending a  Preschool in Dubai can be a very important decision, as well as a stressful one, as there is a plethora of schools available in Dubai, that offer the best in education.
Each family has different priorities when choosing a school for their child. For instance, you may want a strong sports curriculum for your budding sportsmen. Perhaps a top arts program or language immersion is what you're after. Or, maybe the most important feature to you is simply a school with an enthusiastic faculty, strong leadership and produces highly successful individuals.
The following considerations will help guide you closer to choosing the best school for your child.
  • Look for your interests and your child's needs, such as,
  • What are your child's educational needs, are they purely academic, or do you prefer a curriculum that is structured, child initiated, or a combination of both.
  • What do you want the school to achieve for your child, whether it is the various clubs and societies or extra-curricular activities.
  • Are the ideology and values of the schools compatible with yours, just like it was at the Nursery Schools in Dubai.
  • What size school are you looking for, as some children do well in a small school while others may excel in a large school with more options and more children to interact with.
  • Determine the logistics, such as,
    • Is the school affordable. Parents should invest accordingly.
    • Would the school transport be used
    • Does the school offer extended day programs or flexible entry similar to schools with a Day Care in Dubai
  • Select a particular school type, such as
  • District Public Schools that offer curriculum choices outside of the traditional neighborhood school curriculum, like arts, language immersion, Montessori, open, fundamental or others.
  • Public Charter Schools that are run by a variety of organizations, like nonprofits or for-profit, founded by parents, religious groups, entrepreneurs, or corporations that are customized to a particular population, educational approaches, or content.
  • Private Schools range from long established schools to brand new schools.  Their approaches range from very progressive to very conservative, and perhaps a place for higher status families.
  • Montessori Schools are private Nurseries in UAE that provide an individualized Montessori curriculum that emphasizes on hands-on learning.
  • Develop a school search strategy, such as,
    • Start early and organize your research
    • Make a list of the schools that meet your profile
    • Research the schools in your area and request for brochures
    • Visit your top choices of five schools
    • Check the application process
  • Visit and assess schools and look for the following,
  • Ask questions, observe the environment, and talk to the educators
  • How is a student's progress monitored
  • Does the school individualize curriculum
  • Does the school support students who have academic, social, or emotional difficulties
  • How is technology used to support teaching and learning at this school
  • What extracurricular opportunities are available for students
  • What is the school's approach to student discipline and safety
  • What professional development opportunities and experience do teachers have
  • How does the school encourage parent involvement
  • Is there an active Parent Teacher Association?
  • What is the school's history, organizational structure, financial stability and reputation

How to Break a Toddlers TV Habit

Most parents of children in the Preschool in Dubai, express their dislike for allowing children to watch television and encourage them to play outdoors in the gardens, or the backyard,  building dirt and twig forts or tree houses and running free, hosting tea parties for dolls and playing school and spending hours recording stories on a cassette recorder. These bring back fond memories for parents too, a time when electronics and video games did not exist.
Children, for lack of knowing any better, will always choose to watch television, play a video game or go to their computer,  unless  parent's teach them to think outside the box. Television also has its many advantages as well, there is no denying that fact. But it's all about striking a balance between the two.
Here are some tips presented by parent's at the Children’s Nursery in Dubai, about how to distract children from television and other techno gadgets that seem to be invading the home.
  • Get the family involved - Make sure to set a rule in the family to stop using gadgets as an everyday pastime. Make sure to unplug everything during the designated time.
  • Make it interesting - Set the stage for an invitation to play, by having enticing materials to spark play all ready for when a child comes home from school. For example, a teddy bear and dolls waiting for a tea party  or some art materials.
  • Change the child's routine - Make sure to have a surprise in store for the child, in the morning when they wake up or when they return from the Nursery Schools in Dubai.
  • Draw the line and set limits - Give the child a certain time when they can watch TV, but they cannot watch before school as the child's brain needs to be quiet and focused before heading out for a day of learning. Make sure to set the rules every day, so that after some time the child will know the routine.
  • Give the child a choice - Request the child to make a list of things they think are much more interesting than watching television or playing games. Honor their choices and respect them enough to help them happen.
  • Go easy on the child - The more parents push the child away from the digital entertainment the more they may want it. Allow the child an hour of television in the middle of the day, each day and this will work well.
  • Take time to play with the child - Children will learn more about play from their parents than from a toy or a television show. There are many easy and creative ways of having fun with children.
  • Challenge a child - Friendly competition is good for a child, as it encourages stimulation and creativity.
  • Talk to the child - Tell them about the amazing things there are to do in life and how time is short and should not be wasted in front of a television. Tell them watching television will take away the fun from them enjoying other things like board games, walks in the park, playing with pets and doing creative crafts and art projects.

Dealing With Inappropriate Behavior in Preschoolers in Dubai

There are instances when a parent is called by the child's Preschool in Dubai about their inappropriate behavior. This could be when a child is being disruptive for the day and talking out of turn, or it could be a series of bullying incidents involving peers. When this occurs, a parent might wonder how to deal with this sort of behavior and how to address this matter with the school . It's a challenge and resorting to punishment too quickly can be damaging, so here are some important information to keep in mind when addressing the situation.
  • The child may be showing that they cannot follow direction, and to a parent this looks like stubbornness.
  • Never shout at the child, instead talk to the child and find out what is going on, the reason behind their behavior.
  • Children may just want to act out or miss behave to get the attention of the parent, therefore, ask the child what is wrong instead of asking them why they act that way.
  • If the child is vying for attention all the time, it's best to let them sit it through, so parents should simply ignore their unnecessary whining until it stops.
  • Parents and educators at the Nursery in Umm Suqeim should model good behavior for a child. For instance, a child taking apart a toy or any other item is not a way to annoy you or the teacher, but they are acting on impulse to satisfy their natural curiosity. Usually this is common in children until they reach kindergarten age.
  • Time outs and other type of punishment should be done when a child is behaving in a manner that is not safe for himself or others around him. Children who are punished or given time outs may not always understand what they did wrong, they know they are being punished but they don't know how they should behave.
  • Don't stigmatize the child or label the child. Treating a child like they are bad can inevitably lead to a similar predicament, whether a parent likes it or not. Therefore, don't label the child, but instead, start by validating the child’s feelings and modelling good behavior before discipline. No matter how the child behaves, always be consistent with the approach you adopt as a parent.
  • If a time out is absolutely necessary choose a place that is not frightening for the child, after giving them several warnings. Parents should be calm at this point and not lose their cool.
Educators in the Nursery Schools in Dubai warn parents that their child's behavior cannot be changed or fixed instantly or overnight. It takes time and patience to change a child's behavior and this can be gradual. Until the child starts behaving well in the  Dubai Nursery reward the child in minor ways when they behave appropriately.
Sometime, children may have so many issues, therefore experts advise that parents should deal with one issue at a time, with physical behavior addressed first.

Teaching Your Preschooler in Dubai Chores at Home

Teaching  a child attending Preschool in Dubai to  help out with chores around the home can take some stress off your shoulders and give you more time to spend together as a family as well as teach your child the importance of being independent as well. Also, making a child do chores around the home will teach them important life skills, such as teamwork and cooperation.

When parent's allocate chores  it is important to set clear and consistent expectations. For example, don't expect the child to complete the job the way you would or do you expect them to do their best. It's important to be consistent and have realistic expectations.

Educators at Kids Nurseries in Dubai expect parents to allow their child's input into  which chores he or she would like to perform. Give them options and allow them to choose what they would like to do. However, the child may also be assigned some tasks that he or she doesn’t like, make sure to rotate these chores among other children, if parents have more than one child.

Assign tasks that are age appropriate. Even in Dubai Nursery Schools, children are assigned tasks that are age appropriate and rarely are not given tasks that are inappropriate or difficult to perform. For instance, 3-4 year olds can clean up the play area and put away their toys and 5 -6 years olds can clean their rooms by emptying the dustbins, washing plastic dishes and making the bed. A 7-8 year old can fold and put away their laundry, sweep the floor and set the table for a meal. Children who are older than 9years can usually wash the dishes or wash the windows. The most important trait is to make sure the child grasps the idea of pitching in and working as a team. Children should be responsible for chores that directly benefit them, such as cleaning their own rooms.

Since your child is still learning it will take time to get the job done properly, therefore, give your child the opportunity to take their time and learn.

Choose a good time for the child to attend to the chores. Don't make the child do chores as soon as they come home from  school, give them time to rest and relax. Some experts at the Nurseries in Dubai suggest setting aside a time when the whole family does chores together.

Use a chart, like teachers at the Dubai Nursery Schools use in their classroom for each activity. This will help to organize, promote language skills and develop math skills. Make sure all children know that they are expected to help out at home.

Make chores a fun task by incorporating play, music, and singing. The chances are if a child enjoys their chores, they will do them well and take on more responsibility. Make sure to praise the child for a job well done as the child needs to be motivated through praise. With younger children use a reward system.

The Importance of Childcare Nursery in Dubai

Day Care in Dubai is generally a good  option for working parents,  who need their children to be taken care of during the day. Most day care centres accommodate babies as well as toddlers and are full-time and  full-year programs. Preschool features an early childhood educational curriculum for 3 to 4 year olds. They all offer a part-time schedule for little ones often with a few hours a day for three or five days of the week along with the options of full-day care. Childcare Nursery in Dubai is flexible with the hours, features,  highly experienced teachers and stimulating activities for the kids, similar to that of a preschool.
There is increasing evidence that youngsters learn a lot from attending Preschool, as  the children are exposed to numbers, letter, shapes and other stimulating activities that is important for their development. They also learn social skills, getting along with peers, sharing, taking turns and contributing. Reports show that a majority of children attend at least one year of preschool. In fact, educators have stressed the importance of giving children a good foundation in early learning.
In addition to building and strengthening socialization skills such as compromise, respecting others, problems solving and sharing, children also learn to identify themselves and get an identity, explore, play and get along with peers, build confidence and gain independence. You may find your toddler wanting to do their own things and certain small tasks at home like pouring water or sweeping.
It has been proven that children learn and remember things they are taught, if there is physical interaction, for instance, they may not remember the alphabet they are taught in the class but they may remember the alphabet song at the music lesson. For small children in Preschool in Dubai, school is all about having fun and learning new things not achieving academic milestones. It does not matter if your child can't read at 4, it's all about fostering and nurturing their creativity and helping them to grow along the way.
The ideal age for children to attend preschool is between 3 - 5 years, but most of them start at 4 years. Some schools enroll children from 2 1/2 years, but it does not mean that your child will be incompetent if they start school at the age of 3 or 4 years. Most parent's choice of sending the child to preschool depends on their career and family situation.
In order to find the best Children’s Nursery in Dubai, parents should conduct plenty of research. Make a check list and prioritize, based on location, price, reputation, facilities, day care options and the timings. It's easy to shortlist a few potential schools and visit them prior to making your final choice. At the visit, check for factors such as hygiene, safety, children-teacher ratio, age appropriate toys and equipment and if the school has a calm, fun and friendly atmosphere.
If you're comfortable with  the school and if it satisfies all your expectations, then it's likely that you have found the best place for your child to begin their academic journey.

Dealing With Children From Dubai Nursery Schools

Children attending Preschool in Dubai may sail through the day at school, but once they get home, they may tend to be disruptive, uncooperative and almost impossible to be in the same room with. As a parent, you may wonder what is going on, however, educators and child psychologists say this phrase is perfectly normal. A youngster who had worked all day at school doing their best to concentrate, pay attention, follow instructions, learn new things, learn to get along with peers, listen to the teacher and participate in various activities may simply be tired and 'burned-out' when they get home.
Here are some helpful tips put forward by educators  of the Dubai Nursery Schools and development experts about how to ease a child back into their home routine,
  • Try not to strike up much of a conversation. Eventhough, your child goes to school, they are still small and their verbal skills are limited and they may still not be able to explain to you what their day was like at school and how they feel about things or what happened in school. They may just not be ready and may not even know the difference between school and home. So stick to a simple 'hope you had a nice day' or 'looks like you had a fun day'. You may not get much of an answer, but they might simply nod their heads.
  • Be kind and tolerant. Young children are still in the process of taking big developmental steps in their little lives and they are on the verge of learning new skills, such as reading, writing and identifying letters and numbers, so they may often seem very angry and moody while they work things out in their brain. So be patient with them and encourage them, there is bound to be good days too, that they are very happy and chirpy.
  • Give them a healthy snack when they get home. Don't try to give your child sugar based treats after school and boost their energy as it can lead to irritability. Instead, set out some carrot sticks with hummus or corn chips with salsa or pieces of fruit with yogurt. Make sure to give them fruits and vegetables they like.
  • Encourage them to get some rest. Picking children up from the Nursery in Umm Suqeim means there is endless traffic to wade through until you get home, so avoid detouring to the mall, grocery shopping or going shopping, you're asking for trouble in the form of a disastrous meltdown, so take the child home directly and put them down for a short nap or rest before taking them out again, whether it's for extracurricular activities or a kid's
  • Spend time outside. Give your little one a breath of fresh air and plenty of exercise as this can reduce a lot of stress and also boost their academic performance as well. So take your child to the park or to the beach at sunset or simply let them play with friends in the backyard.
  • Stick to a regular routine. Preschool and kindergarten are all about learning rules.
If your child seems extremely irritable and does not calm down, talk to the child's teacher about what may be bothering the child and if there was an incident at the Nursery in Dubai that upset the child.

Preschool in Dubai as a model for Higher Education

There are many who claim that  Dubai Nursery Schools  are more like day care than elementary schools, but those who work with creative and unique little minds know better. The educators are sometimes the secret behind a child's success. The lesson they teach and the patience they preach has  proven far more predictive of future success than any grade or degree.
Research and studies that have watched preschool teachers do what they do have concluded that the world that preschoolers enjoy is well guided by the best people in the business. They change the arc of children's lives and can teach an adult a thing or two as well.
However, teachers at the, kindergarten in Dubai are modest and oblivious to their skills, attempts and the time they spend in their capacity as a teacher. They never take credit for what they do for the children, but always give credit to the children whose natural inclination is to explore, engage and gulp up every last thing they find fascinating and interesting. Every teacher enjoys this and is delighted during these teachable moments, the time you see them as shining jewels, because for many children in their early years they are very rare and special, like a meteor shower.
Foundation Stage Nursery in Dubai often bears witness to these moments like in the metaphor of a meteor shower, where heat and light that can blaze through the classroom in a sudden loud display. These are the moments that make up a good teacher and one that the children will never forget, even when they go on to start school. How many of us can remember those meteor's in our lives in preschool and look back on such a gem and a hero.
So what makes these preschool teachers so special as opposed to educators in school years. Well the preschool teachers, harness all the energy and excitement from within and without the classroom to help turn the child's passion into a project, which turn out to be building blocks of personhood later in life. A good teacher is on the prowl for lessons that teach and reach the mind and the heart. So feel thankful to have found a preschool in Dubai that develops and teaches more than just an average kindergartener but builds a great adult as well.
A good preschool principal should honor and recognize teachers and educators that just stick to the norm. Appreciate those who think beyond the box and gratify and respect a brilliant teacher who will prepare a child to succeed in their higher education and face the future.
From a parent's perspective, it's a joy and a privilege to have such teachers mentor and guide your little children's minds. This is often the building block and foundation your child needs to be successful and a high achiever in the future, therefore, never short change your child's teacher instead respect them and applaud  them for the calling they are fulfilling and transforming and shaping your child into a future leader not a follower.

How to Choose the Preschool in Dubai

Many parents come into the preschool in Dubai application process with trepidation, as they anticipate gruesome interviews and tests for five-year old with a long waiting list. But the truth is far simpler, and less dramatic than what parent's anticipate. As many  Nurseries in UAE come with reasonable waiting lists and genuinely delightful people in control of the entire procedure and situation.
Here is a  list of seven things to consider when picking a preschool for your child,
  • Location - Parent will drive anywhere in Dubai just to get their children into the right school, but it’s always wise to look closer to home first. Dubai offers some really good options for nearly every schedule and commute, including some that even accessible by public transport. However the advantage of enrolling the child into a school close to home can help your child relax and enjoy the short trip to school as well as give you a stress free time.
  • Values - Every Dubai Nursery comes with its own mandate and mission, no two schools are exactly the same. Preschool websites are a great place to start your research, but list your priorities first.
  • Curriculum - What does the school teach, how does it work, what sort of education will your child receive and how does the child fare in kindergarten, and in school going years. There is some debate about the place of hard academics in a preschool setting in Dubai. As a parent, you have the right to ask questions and avoid any school that bases its teaching curriculum on a one size fits all approach.
  • Budget - Childcare Nursery in Dubai tends to vary widely, depending on details such as the size, facility, faculty and reputation. The bottom line is it does not have to cost you a fortune to get your kids into the best preschool. Therefore, get all the details when you are looking for preschools,  the more detailed you get before you start looking, the more likely you are to choose a place you can comfortably afford.
  • Recommendations - No one knows better about preschools than the parents and their friends and family. Keep an eye out for great experiences and glowing recommendations as these are much more insightful and more valuable than reading online reviews or testimonials.
  • Faculty - The school needs to have a stellar faculty, the facilities and the location does not add up to anything if this is not met. Preschools become what they are because of their teachers. The gentle, loving and nurturing faculty act as mentors, surrogate parents, instructors and guides for the children. Look for teachers that have a genuine interest in your child and loves your child.  When it comes to preschool teaching, there is no substitute for warmth, talent and energy.
  • The intangibles - Have you ever toured a school in Dubai and loved every inch of it for what it says on paper but come away feeling less enthusiastic and disappointed. Well the final decision of entrusting your children to someone’s care must come down to your comfort level.

How to Handle the First Day of Nursery

Now that you have taken the first steps in selecting the best childcare nursery in Dubai, you may now be excited about the first day of sending your child to the kindergarten in Dubai or preschool in Dubai.
While nurseries in Dubai could help you cope with your anxieties of how your child will settle in to their schedule, it is still the first time for you and your child and there is nothing wrong in doing some background reading to prepare for this day.
Ensure that you don’t rush things in the morning. Start early. Get everyone to sleep early the night before and wake them up with considerable time to spare in the morning. So that the little one can take his time to eat and get ready and you will also have time to calm him or her down if they start throwing a tantrum.
Go as early as possible to the preschool. This way you can spend a little more time with your child till the other children arrive and the child can clearly see and get to know his or her teacher personally before it becomes packed with the other children.
If the school allows it, let your little child take along one of his favourite comforting object, a blanket or a soft toy, so that the new environment will not be too scary. Once he gets familiar with his or her environment and makes new friends this object can slowly be removed.
You as a parent should set the mood by being happy and smiling. If you show any sign or anxiety the child will be likely to pick up those signs and be scared as well. But if you sound happy and confident the child will start off with a confident step as well.
Some nurseries will allow the parents to stay around on the first day of school. Try not to be in hovering over the child always and just stay out of the class only to step in if needed. So with time the child will understand that you are close by to come if required and help him to get more comfortable around the teacher.
Help the preschool teachers to do their job by keeping your goodbyes short and sweet. Be clear to the child when you will be back, like after lunch. Leave with a smile and try not to look back as it can make the child feel insecure.
Don’t panic and run back if you hear your child crying, the teachers have experience in handling many children. Trust them and your instinct to make the right call.

Nursery School Dubai

Most children are outgoing, make friends easily and are accepting of new ideas and ventures. These young personalities are enthusiastic in play and make friends easily. But for every outgoing nursery child, there is the shy one who prefers to sit outside the circle and is happy with little or no attention at all.

The outgoing children, who attend nurseries make friends fast, are leaders of the pack. But what about the child in the corner who seems uninterested in taking part? Well if you are a parent of that child and are concerned about her being left behind, your worries are only half justified.

Children who prefer to play on their own are not loners but are considered shy. These children will keep to themselves until they are approached or invited by a group of other kids. They will struggle to sharpen their social skills but it is important not to push her out of her comfort zone, she will rather prefer to be guided through it with patience and understanding.

As parents we would love to have our children accepted and active playing with kids their own age at preschool. It is important to work with her teacher to help her get comfortable in a new environment at school, without causing her anxious in the process.

Each classroom will have all kinds personalities and even the shy kid is part of the diversity one would find in a large group of preschoolers. Teachers and parents should allow these children time to want to fit in when they feel comfortable. Generally, shy or quiet children are happy to observe rather than take part and we need both kinds to make a classroom interesting.

As a parent of a shy child, a new school will be worrying; anxiety and nervousness is experienced, by parent and child. Its best to start the admission process early when enrolling your toddler in her new Dubai Nursery. If your son or daughter is shy and about to enter preschool , visit the school with them as often as possible. Let her be acquainted with the staff and her peers early on. This can happen during the admission process, make the appointments during interval, or lunch break when the kids are out playing. Children are naturally inquisitive of new people and will approach your daughter with the intention of making friends. She might pull back at this time, but the best things takes time.  As she doesn’t quite yet belong in the school, she will therefore have no corner to run to except you. She will make small talk before approaching you for comfort. On the next visit she is likely to be more familiar and will therefore attempt to make more friends. Eventually, after a few visits she will comfortable and happy to settle in to her new environment well before her first day.

Additionally, should she need a little more time, make arrangements to stay a while with her on the first day. It’ll give her the reassurance she needs, while other kids approach her and she gets to know her teacher.

Maintain strong communications with her teacher and talk to her about the friends she made. If your child says, she didn’t make any friends or was too shy, gently coach her on her approach for the next day at nursery school. Eventually she will be returning back home with tons of stories about her peers and teachers.

Pre-school prepares your Child for Kindergarten

For many parents and children, preschool is a stepping-stone for learning and developing. It introduced children to concept of a classroom, other groups of children and peers, teachers and specifically they learn to share and accept differences in a social environment.

Preschool does not require 100% attendance from your child, and you have the autonomy to decide on the number of days your child will attend preschool for the week. Preschool offers attendance flexibility, to allow your child to enjoy time at home with parents as well time at school.

Preschool is an introduction to structured learning for young children. Although preschool will not stress on learning and meeting academic milestones, children are gradually introduced to basic academic learning like letters and numbers, incorporated into playful activity monitored by teachers.

Kindergarten standard has seen many changes in recent years, with more focus put on pre-math and pre-English skills. As a result, preschools have had to incorporate some amount of learning into its activities to help young children handle the expectations of kindergarten. Parents are often worried, that too much learning too early will force kids to miss playtime, possibly growing up too fast. Many pre-schools aim to incorporate some amount of learning into playtime or activity based methods, which allows children time to still play, while learning as well.

Preschool can be considered as a soft launch of your child’s academic progress. It teaches them critical social skills needed, like making friends, relate stories, share things, and toys and wait their turn. It helps your child get in to the routine, of playing, sleeping, and learning. Good preschools should provide a fun and safe environment for your child. Pre-schools teachers know and understand each child’s learning ability. Preschool teachers organize and plan activities for children with emotional, social, academic, and mental development in mind.

A pre-school is only different from a playschool, in that a preschool provides structure to the madness. A preschool child is still able to sing and dance, explore and run around, but this time, they will do it with clear developmental objectives in mind.

Another very important aspect of good preschools is when teachers are accepted by children as secondary caregivers. Children learn to accept only their parents and siblings as caregivers and figures of authority. However, when they attend school or kindergarten, they are forced to accept a teacher as second authority and most children take time to adapt. Preschool teachers take an in-between role, where they will give your child, care, and attention, whilst leading their day-to-day activities. This allows your child to accept teachers as second guardians more willingly. It is important that nursery teachers are loving and kind towards all children, which prompts young children to develop with enthusiasm.

Preschool in Dubai

Children should love their time at Dubai nurseries. It is a sure way sign of knowing if the preschool in Dubai follows high standards in early child development. At Kid’s Island Nursery, we ensure that all children have plenty of structured games and activities creating excitement as they learn.

While at our Dubai nursery, children have plenty of activities to keep busy. Surrounded by other children their age they show enthusiasm in social play and developmental tasks. However, once they leave for home each day, they will look for the same level of activities especially if they are an only child. Many parents find it difficult to relate to young children who are always trying to imitate a parent. They will be more obedient when allowed to participate. Young children at the age of two, spend time exploring and wanting independence. Getting your child to sit quietly as you work is not easy.

Many parents pull their out, when children persistently want to take part in your day. Involving your child in what you are busy with, is in fact good for a child’s development, making them disciplined. Many children have short attention spans. They are trying to catch up with the world they live in, and therefore attempt everything around them. Children constantly ask questions; and this is a good sign that your child is developing correctly.

You can actually involve your child in the things you do around the house every day. When they feel as though they have had enough or something else interests them they will leave you to it.

Cooking – it is no surprise that, young girls and even boys are eager to help in the kitchen. However, the kitchen is a dangerous place for small children and parents worry. This is understandably justified. It is better if you section off an area in the kitchen itself and let them do little things for you. They feel important and this is the key to keeping them occupied and safe.

Reading – children aged three are full of questions and want to know everything their parents are doing. Most parents hand out a children’s book to their toddler while they read. However, they will lose interest almost immediately and are back in a flash wanting to know what you are reading. The way to encounter this is to in fact, play it their way. Keeping your child on your lap while you read, and explaining a few child friendly topics will get their interest at first, and when they feel they have had enough will move on to other interests on their own.

Cleaning up – parents, who are alone with a toddler during the day, struggle to tidy up with them running around. All that your young child wants is do as you do. The trick is to invite them in to the activity itself designating easy tasks. When they feel as they have the choice instead of commanded they accept it more willingly. You can say things like “Daddy will be home soon, would you like to help me clean up?” And when they child accept the offer ask them if they would like to start by putting back toys.  It is much easier to get children involved in what you are doing, than to get them to play by themselves.
